The Cyprus National Addictions Authority and the National Committee for the Treatment of Fetal Alcoholism Syndrome and the Fetal Alcoholism Spectrum Disorder in collaboration with the Family Support Counseling Center are implementing a project entitled: “REA: Educational Network for the Harmful USe of Alcohol.”

The project aims to raise awareness about the harmful use of alcohol. More specifically, it aims to: a) enhance the knowledge of the general population and young women and / or young parents in particular about the dangers of alcohol during pregnancy, breastfeeding and infancy. (b) enhance knowledge among health professionals, social workers and educators about fetal alcoholism syndrome and fetal alcoholism spectrum disorder.

The program has created brochures and guides that have been translated into English, Arabic, Bulgarian, Romanian. In addition, informative lectures were held, while a relevant informative video has been released.
